Use ATM's and credit cards. Opening bank account is not realistic for a short term stay. Not teaching your grandma to suck eggs, but make sure you inform your bank that you will be in Thailand as I have had cards stopped as the bank are unsure ... Read More

If you want to be extra safe, you could apply for an international driver's licence. In New Zealand, it's $20. I have heard that if you don't have this document, you risk a 200 baht fine. Which isn't a grand sum, but there you go. Read More
