Hello Everyone.

Ello lads and lassies, I'm Romeo, a soon to be international student learning in Australia. I joined the forum to prepare myself on topics such as accommodation and part time jobs I can attain with my student visa.

@DestRomeo

Your university should be able to give you all the information you need, ask at the Student Union, there you will also be able to make friends and join clubs,

Come back and let us know how you get on.

Good luck.

@SimCityAT

Cheers for the advice lad. I'll eventually come back with updates on how things are going.

New here, born and raised in the PH but eventually want to pursue further studies in Perth or Melb. I've travelled in Perth multiple times now and I love how i feel grounded everytime im there. The quiet is enticing, and the local groceries really make me happy. Planning to save up and visit a family member in Manjimup soon.

Greetings all, I will be moving to Brisbane Fall or Winter of 2028. I will be joining my daughter, granddaughter and son-in-law who is a Brisbane native. They are moving to Brisbane December, 2027. I鈥檓 particularly interested in all things related to cost of living: monthly average utility costs, monthly average grocery cost, average rental for 2 bedroom unit. Their home is in the Mt Gravatt East neighborhood which is where I will want to rent as well.

On a personal note, I am a retired Nurse-Midwife. I love all things outdoors; hiking, mountain climbing, skiing, canoeing, kayaking, biking, gardening. I spend a lot of my retirement time doing citizen science projects like finding and cataloging native plant species that are threatened. In CO, I patrol National Forest hiking and camping trails to assist in monitoring the general public鈥檚 usage, maintaining leave-no-trace principles. I am looking forward to exploring the greater Brisbane area and beyond.
