About Activity

My husband and I want to retire in Portugal, starting in November/December 2015. Let's do a reconnaissance next September to choose the region of establishment, close to Lisbon perhaps for health problems. My husband developed Parkinson's disease and underwent neurological stimulation surgery. 2 years after implantation, he is doing very well and does not need any special care. But we would like to know a little more about the health system in Portugal: medical centers imposed according to place of residence? Need a specialist in case of serious pathology like Parkinson's? French Health and Mutual Insurance Coverage, how does it work? Can you please inform us? Sincerely

There we are, here we are. Our project is finally coming true! We signed our lease on 11/12/2015, have already made a Portugal-France round trip and have really been installed since this last weekend in November 2015. We are in a small village: Sao Miguel de ALCAINCA, between Mafra and Malveira.
Jean-Michel is retired from the French Civil Service and Nelly is not yet Retired from the Private sector but soon.
Extraordinary welcome from the Portuguese! No sooner had we arrived than neighbors came to introduce themselves, not out of curiosity but to offer us their help. It's really really nice.
